Pattie with tadeus r. & Menno

About Pattie Murphy | Owner & Operator, Bristol Hills Farm & Stables

I set out to create a sanctuary where people like me could come and escape the world and their problems and just spend some quiet time with their horse. Together with my friend and Trainer Linda Aarismaa we created the perfect boarding farm of my dreams. We have a great group of boarders here each with their own experience level and goals – everyone is supportive of each other. We have beginner and seasoned owners of horses and offer something for everyone. I take great pride in keeping the grounds and Farm facilities in top shape for everyone’s enjoyment. It truly is beautiful here and I’m so lucky to call it home.

About Our Friesians

I fell in love with the Friesian horse a long time ago but never thought I’d ever own one, let alone five! I’m passionate about the breed and have really just started my journey with them.

Right now I ride Tad and Tite’us whenever I can throw a leg over and my favorite thing to do is ride my trails. Every day is a training day for my yearlings Tennyson and Talisker – they are a handful! I am often asked what I do with my Friesians and the truth is most days I look at them sigh and say, “aren’t they beautiful!” and that’s it as I clean their stalls and make sure they are fed. It’s a labor of love!

Tadeus R.

Tade’us R. & Menno

I purchased Tade’us R. and Menno from a gentleman in Montana in 2019. I knew they were mine from the moment I saw them! Both are KFPS and both were imported originally from the Netherlands. I am so lucky to be able to see my horses every day and I love them, they are family to me. Tragically, I lost Menno to colic in 2021. It was sudden and took me a year to stop grieving for him. His loss is deeply painful.

Ulco van de Wolwarren aka Tite’us

Ulco van de Wolwarren, barn name Tite’us (also KFPS and imported), was given to me by a friend and previous Trainer. Tite’us is a Friesian sport horse who competed in dressage at the college level but suffered from a lameness issue. He came to me in 2020 and fit right in with my other two black beauties.

Tennyson & Talisker Skye

It was after losing Menno that I began searching for another colt/gelding from Brend 413 (Menno’s sire). That’s how I found Tennyson who was born in May 2022 and Talisker Skye. I originally only purchased Tennyson, but when I went to visit him in North Carolina, I also fell in love with Talisker. They both came here in April of 2023 as almost yearlings.

Tennyson is a KFPS full Friesian (sire is Brend 413 / dam is PollyAnne fr Wildwind), but Talisker Skye aka “the golden child” is a Friesian cross. He’s a Georgian Grande which is a KFPS Friesian (sire is Otto P. KFPS Friesian) with a Registered American Saddlebred (dam is Jasmine Jazz).
